Not sure if there is one for these sites. I usually go by my Paypal account to see who donates.

If you do find a meter, I would be interested in knowing about it.

SEE POST: <--- Click here.

If you want something nifty, You can go to:
www.sitepal.com
For free you can get a small demo of an animated person and you can put words in its mouth to say who's donated for your site, each time someone mouses over it.
You can put animated mete gifs above it, text saying the names of the people who've donated, etc. It's just a matter of keeping up with your website, whoever is designated to update your site, etc.
There isn't a PHP like donation meter like you see in php sites, in clantoolz, as far as I know, unless it's iframed into a box.

That seems like a good product but Im not too sure about trusting the site owners with all my Paypal info. I would'nt trust anyone that needs the email you use for Paypal, your full name, complete address and phone # just for a free meter.

I never put my real name in and it brings you to the secure paypal login. I beleive it's just a script that points to your papyal address to pay it. It actually doesn't get into your account.

I always opted for the easy. Just create a new box, at the top of the box put what we are paying each month, what we need to fulfil the payments, list the names of the donators and then the total at the bottm compaired to how much is needed. It's simple, it just means that each month, someone will have to physically put that in, it's smoother then trying to rely on an outside source and you can make it pretty with pretty colors or icons. =o) Remember, pretty is the main ingriediant here. =o P

Well I got a reply from paypal.

"Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your concerns. I am happy to assist you further.

Kim, I'm glad you've found a vendor that can provide you the program that can support your efforts.

Unfortunately, we cannot comment on or recommend any specific vendors, as I'm sure you can understand due to potential liability issues.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and wish you continued success on PayPal."

I can understand they can't comment on other programs. There are suing angels out there.

I don't know, I'll still use it. I think it's safe unless somebody actually gives me technical data to convince me otherwise.

I just got this reply from the individual you is now running donation meter.

"Right, I understand their concern. I don’t have access to people’s paypal passwords or logins. Seems like a great way to end up sharing cell space with a burly guy named “bubba”, not worth it in my view.

I didn’t code this script, but I just agreed to keep the site going after the first guy who ran it tired of the whole thing. And since then its been on auto pilot. I did look at the php code just now and it seems to rely on a series of Paypal API’s. An API is when a software maker (or in this case Paypal) creates a method (a way) for third party developers to create add on or complimentary products. The logins or passwords are not accessible here."

You want to see a perfect example of what you are talking about? Check out the Right or C column at: www.fiarplaysoldiers.com Scroll down and see how Dirtyjob made his with icons and sized font. All it takes is someone that works on the website, your webby or whatever to pay attention to whom donates and then add their name, Instead of some elaborate out-sourcing of a potentially harmful, non-opening Iframe from some other place.

I actually see them using a donation meter.

No worries. I know a clan that used this donationmeter for 5 years and they never had any problems nor did the people whom donated to it.

If we have any problems then we will make a post in here and tell everybody.

Is it PHP and are they using it on an e107 template? I know of many that are using those donation meters, none here, sadly. I don't think it's a Major issue, doesn't seem to be really any other posts in the Clantoolz history until recently.

using the method described by teazer about our site got to time consuming manually adding the donators and we opted for the donate meter, i have absolutely no worries about the donate meter, if you do simply put false info as per your name address and whatever else, as for any concerns on your paypal info, that info is given to anyone anytime they send you money, they can do nothing with it since it is password protected and never give out any passwords.

Ok, I started using Sitemeter and sure enough, I had 2 donators. IT's ok, it doesn't quite fit the module or box I made for it, but oh well. Bad news is, I can't reset it after a month, so what it looks like is each month the same people donated 25 bucks, when in fact, back in July was the last time anyone donated. =o ( I guess each month, I have to make a new campaign... what a pain in the arse. =o(
